THE MERLES Play Hank Williams at Grand Army Plaza [Video]

Here’s my new favorite acoustic streetcorner Hank Williams cover band, caught live this past Saturday afternoon at Grand Army Plaza:

The band is called The Merles, and they’ve played small Park Slope clubs and bars, including Cafe Steinhof. They told me they have no upcoming gigs. If anyone knows how to get in touch with The Merles, please send the contact info our way, K?

if they haven’t already, The Merles should hook up with Alex Battles (http://www.whiskyrebellion.com/news.html) who organizes all sorts of country rock-outs around the boro (which I always intend to go to, but never do).

I hope so. Last time I posted an AVI, we got complaints from Mac users.

I clicked on the link and it opened and played just fine on a Mac G4 w/OS 10.4.1

I had a digital still camera that shot AVI’s movies three years ago and never had problems then either.

Some AVIs will play in QuickTime, some won’t. Depends on the codec. When they don’t, you can try to download the proper codec, but the simplest solution is to download VLC. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/.

I recognize the singer. His name’s Todd Detheridge. Remember him from Dallas. He’s been playing around NYC for a while as a solo artist.
